Gippsland Grammar is seeking an inspiring and highly accomplished educational leader to join our Garnsey Campus as Head of Learning. This is an outstanding opportunity for a passionate educator to lead curriculum excellence, champion high-quality teaching practice, and play a pivotal role in shaping the learning culture across our Senior Campus.

As a member of our senior academic team, the Head of Learning works closely with the Deputy Principal and Heads of Campus to ensure our curriculum is future-focused, evidence-based, and aligned with Gippsland Grammar's commitment to academic care, innovation, and student wellbeing.

This role attracts a monetary allowance (4% of Level 9) and a 0.8 FTE time-release, recognising its significance and scope.

About the Role

The Head of Learning (Garnsey) leads the development, evaluation and enhancement of learning and teaching across Years 7–12. You will guide staff in curriculum planning, assessment, reporting and pedagogical practice, ensuring that every student is supported to grow, achieve and thrive.

Key areas of leadership include:

* Leading best-practice teaching and learning in collaboration with the Deputy Principal and Heads of Campus
* Overseeing the development of whole-school curriculum scope and sequence
* Supporting teachers through mentoring, modelling, and collaborative planning
* Ensuring assessment and reporting processes are accurate, evidence-based and aligned
* Promoting the effective use of curriculum mapping tools and learning management systems
* Building strategic partnerships that enhance learning pathways and opportunities
* Leading Heads of Department and key curriculum teams
* Presenting at parent information evenings and school events
* Driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of professional growth

This role is integral to ensuring an engaging, rigorous and innovative academic program for our students.

About You

You are an exceptional educator with a deep understanding of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and contemporary learning research. Your leadership style is collaborative, supportive and future-oriented. You value relationships, work effectively across teams and communicate with clarity and purpose.

You will bring:

* Current VIT registration
* A track record of successful curriculum leadership
* Expertise in curriculum design and differentiated instruction
* Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
* The ability to mentor and inspire teachers
* A commitment to the Anglican ethos and values of Gippsland Grammar
* A passion for supporting young people through both academic and pastoral care

Desirable attributes:

* A postgraduate qualification in education
* Experience leading curriculum teams in a secondary setting
* Knowledge of Australian Curriculum trends and emerging educational practice
