The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Information Technology Coordinator to provide a critical role within Hopkins Correctional Centre. This is a VPS Grade 4 position with salary $100,894 - $114,476 plus superannuation, and is an ongoing full‐time opportunity to work with a high‐performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service.
About The Business Unit
Hopkins Correctional Centre is a medium‐security prison located in Western Victoria, housing up to 798 people. The prison takes a multi‐disciplinary approach that promotes active participation in activities structured to assist with rehabilitation and reintegration back to community at end of sentence.
About The Role
The role of the Information and Technology (IT) Coordinator, under the supervision of the Planning and Performance Manager, is to develop and implement IT systems in support of daily operations to improve cost effectiveness, service quality and departmental development.
The IT Coordinator will ensure delivery of IT support is in accordance with the Corrections Victoria IT Support Policy and Technology Services Policies, maintain stable operation of the in‐house computer network and data communications systems, assist in planning and use of IT assets, and plan and install common IT infrastructure assets for Hopkins Correctional Centre.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and support IT services at Hopkins Correctional Centre, ensuring compliance with all legislative and corporate governance requirements.
* Assist staff with computer software and hardware issues and equipment maintenance in consultation with DOJ Help Desk.
* Coordinate employee access to computer programs and folders.
About You
* A minimum of 2‐3 years' experience in Computer Information and Technology field.
* Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Office programs including program design and modification.
* Capable of working across multiple projects at a time with a high multi‐tasking capability.
Qualifications / Requirements
* A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
