Sous Chef
$80,000 + 12% super
- Full-time role with occasional weekend work for functions and events

Chartwells are specialists in providing catering and hospitality services in education. Our goal is to provide engaging and nutritious dining solutions tailored to support academic achievement at the highest levels.
The Position
- Assist in the planning and preparation of food production across functions and in house menu-based catering
- Actively maintain a high standard of food safety, allergen awareness, and OHS
- Contribute to the development of menu ideas using local fresh ingredients
- Assist in the mentoring of the kitchen team
- Monitor and order stock and minimize food wastage
THE PERSON
- Must have proven experience as a sous chef leading and mentoring other cooks/chefs in the kitchen
- Minimum Cert. III Commercial Cookery
- Must have or be able to obtain Working with Children Check and National Police Check
- Experience with cooking healthy and nutritious food in bulk quantities
- Strong understanding of allergen management and food safety
- Experience in menu development and costing
- A passion for delivering fresh and flavorsome food.
- Flexibility as there may be requirements for early starts and late finishes for functions.
