About the Company
Our client is a well‑established roofing and cladding specialist delivering high‑quality installations across the Southland. They are committed to safe work practices, strong craftsmanship, and long‑term project excellence. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Roofing Foreman to lead onsite teams and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
The Role
As the Roofing Foreman, you will oversee day‑to‑day site operations, coordinate installation teams, and ensure all roofing and cladding work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone with strong technical knowledge and proven experience supervising roofing crews.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise roofing and cladding installation teams
* Ensure strict adherence to health and safety procedures, including PPE compliance and site housekeeping
* Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
* Assess site conditions and confirm suitability for roofing and cladding systems
* Accurately measure, cut, and install materials as required
* Oversee layout accuracy and quality control
* Perform and supervise repairs and maintenance work
* Ensure all work follows manufacturer guidelines and industry best practice
* Complete daily timesheets and support project reporting
* Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and team members
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum three years’ experience in roofing, cladding, or a closely related trade
* Previous leadership or foreman experience is highly advantageous
* Relevant trade qualification (NZQF Level 4 or equivalent) preferred
* Strong commitment to safe work practices
* Confident working at heights and in varying weather conditions
* Ability to lead a team while also working independently
* Good communication and problem‑solving skills
* High level of workmanship and attention to detail
