About the Role
This Project Officer role is part of the Reform and Innovation branch, which works in genuine partnership with Aboriginal peoples and communities to shape policies and reforms that reflect their needs and aspirations.
The role involves playing a key part in delivering NSW Government commitments under Closing the Gap and advancing Aboriginal land and cultural heritage reform.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead coordination and governance in partnership with the NSW Coalition of Aboriginal Peak Organisations to improve outcomes for Aboriginal people across NSW.
2. Deliver land justice initiatives and lead key reforms including Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Reforms and administration of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983.
What You'll Need
* Demonstrated experience in project management, including report and brief preparation, resource coordination, and project plan implementation and monitoring.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, briefs, and correspondence.
* Able to build strong relationships and manage stakeholder interests positively and professionally.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure, effectively manage competing priorities, and be flexible to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
* Commitment to customer service, including communicating sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Hold a current driver's license and be willing to travel around NSW as required.
