Anglicare is seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our Residential Care team at Eileen Armstrong House in Woonona on a permanent part-time basis (approximately 24 hours per week).

The role.
Reporting to the Residential Manager – Residential Care, you will ensure that nourishing and healthy meals are planned and prepared for clients to a high standard and within budget, adhering to all aspects of health and safety.

This a permanent parttime position based out of Woonona.
As a Chef, Your Duties Will Include
Ensuring that the food prepared for clients at the Residential Care Home is nutritious, appealing and delicious, and served promptly at the appropriate temperature according to the Residential Care Food Safety Plan
Ensuring home menus are developed and well planned, based on our Rhythm of Life principles and the requirements of the clients residing at the home each day.
Working with the Team to ensure only the highest quality food is ordered and received according to Food Safety Plan.
Ensures that food safety, health, hygiene and cleanliness standards set by Anglicare and the relevant health authorities are maintained, HACCP systems are up-to-date, and training is undertaken as required
Creating a hygienic work environment by Cleaning and sanitising all equipment, floors and work areas, removing waste from work areas and surrounds into bins.
Maintaining optimum food quality by checking ingredients, preparation, cooking and storage procedures, and making suggestions aimed at improving food quality, work practices, procedures, and cleanliness standards.
Contributes to the effectiveness of the whole team by working in a cooperative way, reporting in a timely manner any safety, equipment and personnel issues to the Residential Manager.
Key Skills
Excellent cooking skills
Knowledge of Aged Care catering policies & procedures and HACCP principles
Expert knowledge of IDDSI
Demonstrated Workplace Health and Safety knowledge
Qualifications And Experience
Certification III Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
Food safety supervisor certificate – desirable
Minimum of two years proven experience in a servery/hospitality environment, including menu planning, preparation of food, cooking and portion control including allergen, special dietary needs and IDDSI requirements.
Experience in food hygiene and health and safety procedures and maintaining high levels of record keeping e.g. ordering of stock/stock control. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food hygiene and safety requirements within a servery /hospitality environment.
Minimum of two years proven experience managing /leading a team /staff - desirable
Previous experience in an Aged Care environment - highly desirable
