**The Role**:
Nestled in North-Eastern Tasmania in the Fingal Valley this family-owned mixed farming enterprise has dedicated the last 20 years to developing the property from predominantly wool based to a mixed farming operation. The property is diverse with a mix of productive dryland and irrigated land, balanced with native pastures and highland grazing pastures. Comprised of approximately 22,000 sheep and 1500 Angus cattle stretching over 19,500ha the property runs a mix of closely aligned livestock and cropping enterprises which includes fine wool, prime lamb, and Angus beef production.
This position is a key role within the Management Team and does inherit a high degree of responsibility and expectation.
This position is responsible for all livestock on the property as this business prides itself on having high-performing animals due to the high level of care and careful management this position contributes.
Under the direction and guidance of the Farm Manager, you will contribute by
showing initiative and strong leadership.
- Accepting responsibility for and carrying out day-to-day tasks according to plan
- Utilizing, supervising, and coordinating all available resources
- Make strategic, proactive sound decisions that are in the best interests of the business and maximize productivity and efficiency
- Aligning all activities to our (Benham Tasmania) policies and procedures
- Setting high standards as an example for all staff to follow
**The Property & Employer**:
Our clients are a family-owned enterprise currently, under the management of the family's 7th-generation farmers, this is a mixed farming enterprise that was initially farmed and settled in 1828.
It is a large-scale progressive and developing farming business located near Avoca. The property runs a mix of closely aligned livestock and cropping enterprises, including fine wool, prime lamb, and Angus beef production. Rainfall ranges from 500mm in the north of the property to 950mm in the southern end of the property (highland). Variable soil types range from deep free draining sands to self-mulching soil.

Any services that Campbell town cannot provide can be found at Launceston which is 1 hour away from the house.
