As the Senior Legal Officer you will support complex decision-making in court registries, including the exercise of registrar delegations and powers. You will also provide expert advice on legislative compliance, draft delegations and authorisation instruments, and shape agreements on how agencies work together to deliver services and share information.
Your key responsibilities
* Provide expert advice to support complex decision-making in registries using research and analysis, including to principal registrars on high-profile and sensitive matters.
* Advise on legislative compliance including for operational policies and procedures, delegation instruments, and memoranda of understanding.
* Draft and advise on delegations and authorisation instruments, including briefing senior leaders.
* Advise on requests to access court systems and information from external stakeholders and develop memoranda of understanding for approved requests.
* Develop communications explaining case law and legislation developments impacting complex decision-making, to uplift technical knowledge and capability.
* Mentor and train junior legal and administrative officers.
* Participate in interdepartmental and interagency meetings as required.
