Callide Dawson Funerals is seeking a professional, reliable, and compassionate individual to join our team as a Funeral Director Assistant / Labourer.
This role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful support to grieving families while also assisting with funeral service operations and general workplace maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Transfer of deceased persons into our care, including after-hours call-outs (rostered)
Set up and pack down funeral services and equipment
Assist families on the day of funerals with care and professionalism
Liaise with hospitals, aged care facilities, and medical practitioners
Vehicle and equipment maintenance, general handyman tasks
About You:
Empathetic and skilled in supporting grieving families
Solid communication skills and high attention to detail
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
Current driver’s licence (MR licence desirable, not essential)
Availability for some after-hours and weekend work
Mechanical aptitude or general handyman skills an advantage
