Overview
CQ Health public health service in Central Queensland supports a growing population of approximately 250,000 people and employs more than 3,700 staff, treating more than 700,000 patients each year. The Finance Department manages the financial operations of the health service, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring efficient allocation of resources. It oversees billing processes, financial compliance, and supports strategic financial planning to ensure financial sustainability and optimal delivery of healthcare services. The department works closely with other hospital departments to maintain accurate financial records and facilitate effective financial decision-making.
About the role
The Financial Accountant and Compliance Officer is part of a dedicated team of finance professionals who support CQ Health through the provision of accountable, transparent, qualified and value-for-money financial accounting services. This position is responsible for development and implementation of the financial management assurance framework by identifying financial control risks and recommending, designing and implementing effective and efficient control solutions.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Economics or other relevant disciplines.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in the health service delivery environment.
- CPA/CA designation or equivalent would be highly regarded.
What we offer
Total remuneration value of up to $148,323 is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $60.79 - $80.64 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
