About the Role & Department
Manning Base Hospital is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates registered with the Medical Board of Australia. A minimum of two years' Obstetrics & Gynaecology experience is required, together with the ability to manage a busy birthing unit with specialist support.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive outpatient services, including Antenatal Clinic (ANC), Gynaecology, High‐Risk Obstetrics and Colposcopy.
* Manage surgical services including minimally invasive, open and laparoscopic procedures.
* Operate a busy birthing suite with approximately 650 deliveries per year.
* Provide after‐hours on‐call and weekend coverage on a 1:4 rotation.
* Deliver strong Junior Medical Officer (JMO) support, working with Registered As, Rural Generalists, SRMOs, RMOs and a well‐established Paediatrics Department including a Special Care Nursery.
* Collaborate with the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health and participate in teaching for Years 3–5 of the Joint Medical Program.
Qualifications
* Registered medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Minimum of two (2) years' clinical experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
* Ability to manage a high‐volume birthing unit and work effectively with specialist teams.
