About The Team
The Patient Flow and Clinical Safety Unit within the CHQ Operations Centre plays a vital role in coordinating safe and timely care across Children's Health Queensland (CHQ). The unit plays a pivotal role in coordinating the patient journey across the healthcare continuum, ensuring clinically appropriate placement, efficient bed utilisation and streamlined access to services. It supports the coordination of care for children whose needs exceeds the capability of their local hospital and health service. The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Clinical Safety works in partnership with clinicians to ensure care delivery is aligned with best practice standards and risk mitigations strategies are in place throughout the patient journey.
About The Role
The purpose of this role is to provide expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of paediatric nursing. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator and wider health care team to support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of paediatric nursing.
