About The Role
This is a great opportunity for a qualified Greenkeeper or Horticulturalist to join our Turf Services team. Working from either Banksmeadow or Botany depot, you will be part of a team responsible for delivering both planned and reactive turf and horticultural maintenance across Bayside's parks and open spaces.
You will contribute to the upkeep of sports fields, open space assets, turf surfaces, and horticultural areas, while also providing guidance and support to operational staff on site.
You can also expect to:
* Plan and organise work to deliver work requests or programs through digital work order system.
* Report any identified work request variations to Team Leader to ensure Council parks and open space assets are well maintained
* Provide feedback and contribute to team processes to improve service delivery, safety and compliance.
* Guide operational staff on site to enable overall delivery of allocated work.
* Work in collaboration with and assist the team, manager and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and Council priorities.
* Lead small crews on site or work independently to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
* Monitor work quality and compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
* Mentor and support less experienced staff.
* Implement WHS procedures, traffic management plans, and site risk assessments.
* Conduct pre-start checks, toolbox talks, and hazard identification.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and Council policies.
* Communicate professionally with residents and stakeholders on site.
* Represent Council in a courteous and accountable manner.
Essential Requirements
* Trade Certificate, equivalent qualification (i.e., Minimum Cert III Parks & Gardens, Horticulture or Sports Turf Management).
* Experience in a relevant field.
* A SafeWork NSW white card (general construction induction card).
* Current Driver's Licence Class C.
* Current "Chem Use" accreditation OR willingness to obtain during probation period
