We are currently partnering with a major mining operator to recruit an experienced Structural Geologist to join their team based in Perth. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and refinement of structural geological models that support safe and efficient mining operations across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
* Develop and refine structural geological models using multivariate datasets including drill hole data, geological mapping and geophysical datasets
* Deliver structural models to support geotechnical analysis and design, including confidence assessments
* Provide structural geology support to mining operations through data collection, in-pit reconciliation and risk identification
* Interpret photogrammetry data to generate digital structural datasets
* Interpret and validate televiewer data
* Contribute to geotechnical design risk assessments in relation to geological and structural model reliability
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to build knowledge and support structural system development
Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Geology, Structural Geology or a related discipline
* Demonstrated experience interpreting geological and geophysical datasets, including geological mapping and downhole geophysics within the iron ore industry
* Experience in open pit structural mapping, reconciliation, and structural/geological modelling
* Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
* Experience with 3D modelling software such as Vulcan, along with ArcGIS
* Experience interpreting photogrammetry data will be highly regarded
* Understanding of the application of structural data in geotechnical analysis
* Excellent communication and report writing skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
