Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.Bechtel Global Logistics (BGL) is seeking a project Senior Logistics Specialist based in Brisbane, Australia to be a part of BGL- EPC Functional support team.
The Senior Logistics Specialist will be responsible for assisting the BGL Regional Logistics Manager to manage logistics responsibilities within the Supply Chain organization of multiple global business units, and / or within corporate Bechtel Global Logistics (BGL) function.
This role also includes assisting in preparation of bid proposals, pre-FEED and FEED stages – including freight estimates and deliverable documentation.
Business / project travel may be required at the request of the Project Supply Chain Manager, Project Logistic Manager, BGL Regional Logistics Manager.Major Responsibilities :Performs work as a Logistics technical, estimating, operations, chartering or commercial role supporting a moderate / large sized project with a complex scope as a deployed, dedicated resource in the home office or field.Performs domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements.Coordinates shipments with requisite internal and external entities.Ensures entry of shipment tracking data into Transport Management System (TMS) and other functional systems / tools to provide visibility shipment status.Prepares logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements.Ensures audit and processing of Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures.Identifies transport cost and service alternatives to support materials / equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers.Assists the project Logistics Lead as requested with capacity to provide short-term leadership.Files and resolves Logistics Service Provider claims.Prepares Logistics Service Provider commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents.Prepares logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility visits.Assists BGL Strategy and Estimating manager as required for developing project freight estimates.Prepares and conducts Route Surveys (Desk and field).Integrates safety requirements and measures in all logistics activities.Education and Experience Requirements :Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience or 12 to 14 years of relevant work experience.Home, Field and deployed project experience preferred.Chain of Responsibility (CoR) / Transport Assurance proficient knowledge.Experience with medium to large scale projects highly regarded.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :Proficient in speaking and writing English.Knowledge of Australia (country) importing and exporting formalities and processes.Knowledge of domestic and international trade and delivery terms.Knowledge of industry packing, making, and shipping requirements.Knowledge and practical understanding of Incoterms (2020).Career-level position within field.Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline.A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization.Capable of resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.Commercial and contractual acumen.Job Complexity :Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.Networks and connects with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.Requires the ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations without damage to the relationship.Supervision :Minimal supervision with latitude for judgement.May assist less-experienced team members.
