Leadership opportunity to educate and develop clinicians in wound management

Manage referral pathways and complete treatment plans for patients across Australia, onsite and via telehealth

In this new era of wound management service reform, WoundRescue is supporting health services with all aspects of education and training, and referral pathways and we are seeking clinical professionals who are passionate and eager to advance their careers. We are currently seeking Clinical Specialists, or clinicians ready to take the next step who have experience in managing and treating people living with a wound. The position offers a unique opportunity for a senior clinician to utilise their clinical & leadership experience within a new team.

We do this by collaborating with clinicians and patients to enhance knowledge, build capacity, embed evidence-based practice, and relieve the symptoms of wounds for the person through our referral pathway. We offer services within hospitals, GP practices, home and community, aged care, disability services, and to other health providers as well as providing a robust telehealth service. We are an advanced practice company that focuses on maintaining current best practices and ensuring our employees are provided with up-to-date evidence through a thorough internal training schedule.

About the role

This is an autonomous role with support from the business manager, administration team, and director as needed.

Core responsibilities include:

* Responsible for the provision of high-level person-centered, evidence-based clinical care
* Demonstrating and upholding best practice wound care standards
* Embrace and lead a practice development philosophy in the delivery of Wound care.
* Undertaking comprehensive assessments, and referrals, providing expert consultation and educational support to staff, patients, and family in the community setting.
* Responsible for evaluation and supervision in the provision of complex clinical care in the wound care area of practice.
* Demonstrate the ability to act as a professional role model, delivering a high-level capacity for patient advocacy and cost-benefit practice while demonstrating the ability to act as a change agent, provide effective clinical leadership, and the ability to practice as an autonomous professional with the capacity to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Assist in the provision of supervision and support for less experienced clinicians
* Will maintain their professional accountability and development in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia’s Standards or relevant registration board of Practice.
* Collaborating with the business manager and educators to contribute toward an appropriately skilled workforce
* Proficient writing and computer skills
* The purpose of this role is to provide a consultancy service regarding specialist wound care

Selection Criteria

* Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse, Nurse practitioner, podiatrist or doctor with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and demonstrated ability to actively contribute to the development of clinical practice.
* Post-registration qualifications with at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.
* Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision-making capabilities and leadership in the development of specialty clinical practice and service delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to carry out an extended role in the specialised field.
* Commitment to contribute to own and the team's professional development, to act as a resource person and mentor to others within the specialty.
* Demonstrated ability to exercise professional knowledge and judgment in providing complex care requirements of patients in the specialty field.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake an assessment of clinical competencies within the wound specialty environment

* Member of Wounds Australia
* Holds a current Certificate IV TAE (Training and Assessment)
* Master in Wound Care or working towards

This role must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and meet the requirements of WoundRescue's immunisation policy. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination.
