The HB Quarry is at the heart of the HB Group that has been a Territory institution since 1960. The quarry is located approximately 100kms outside of Darwin along the Arnhem Highway, at Mt Bundy Station. Mining a 200+ year granite supply with the capacity to produce over 1,000,000 tonnes of quarry products per year, consisting of concrete and sealing aggregates, fine crushed rock, quarry sand and marine armour. The crushing and screening circuit is recognised to be the largest and most efficient in the NT.
Reporting directly to the Quarry Manager, we are currently seeking an experience and reliable Fixed Plant Crusher Control Room Operator to join our team at the HB Quarry.
Key Responsibilities
These include, but will not be limited to:
•Operating and monitoring the fixed plant crushing and screening circuit via computer control systems
•Managing plant start-up, shut-down, and production changes
•Monitoring feed rates, product sizes, and stockpile levels
•Identifying and responding to plant faults, alarms, and blockages
•Coordinating with loaders, excavators, and maintenance teams
•Ensuring production targets are met while maintaining product quality
•Completing daily production reports and plant checklists
•Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
•Experience operating fixed plant crushing / screening (quarry or mining preferred)
•Previous control room or plant monitoring experience
•Strong understanding of crushing circuits, conveyors, screens, and feeders
•Ability to troubleshoot plant issues and communicate clearly with the field crew
•Sound computer skills and confidence using control systems
•A strong safety focus and commitment to procedures
•Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
