Recovery Support Worker
Support individuals in their journey of recovery from alcohol, other drug (AOD), and/or gambling dependencies. Develop strong relationships with participants to understand their needs and provide timely support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide participant support in accordance with established frameworks and organisational policies.
* Assist case workers to address participant needs, administer programs, contribute to case plans, educational group facilitation, and provide supervision as required.
* Support outreach to participants living in transitional housing.
* Perform ad-hoc duties as requested by management.
* Record relevant information in the required system within agreed timeframes.
* Supervise self-administration of medication and drug testing as necessary and record according to organisational policy.
Requirements:
* AOD Certificate IV or equivalent qualification.
* Knowledge and understanding of AOD/Gambling, Community Services, and Mental Health.
* An appreciation for working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
* Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and religions.
* Energetic and flexible team player with a positive attitude.
* Ability to manage unpredictable situations and behaviors using de-escalation techniques.
* Alignment with values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity.
* Current First Aid Certification.
* National Police Record Check.
* Vaccination Certificate.
* Valid and current driver's license.
