So, you’ve done the degree. You know enough to know that you don’t want to be stuck drafting steel connections for the next 3 years.
You want to build things. Real things. Different things.
This role sits inside a growing modular construction company doing clever stuff with container-based builds, rooftop bars, portable offices, site fit-outs, even pop-up cafés. Everything is designed, engineered, and delivered in-house. It’s practical, it moves fast, and nothing sits in a pipeline for years waiting to get approved.
You’ll sit alongside the design, production, and project teams. You’ll support with structural calcs and code compliance, liaise with drafting, and get direct exposure to NCC, AS/NZS standards, QA checks, and certification. It’s hands-on, but you won’t be on the tools. You’ll be learning the ropes of modular builds and helping keep things structurally sound and on track.
You’ll also be in a team that values ideas over egos. If you’ve got something to contribute, you’ll be listened to. If you don’t know something, someone will show you. There’s a casual office vibe, but the work gets taken seriously.
You’ll suit this role if:
– You’ve got (or are finishing) a degree in civil or structural engineering
– You’re curious, resourceful, and a fast learner
– You’re comfortable asking questions and not afraid to speak up
– You’re happy jumping between design chats, certification docs, and production briefings
Bonus points if you’ve done an internship or have exposure to drafting, fit-outs, fabrication or welding, but it’s not a dealbreaker.
