Tourism and Visitor Experience Coordinator

This position is an ‘Identified’ role involving significant engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The successful applicant must understand the issues affecting these communities and communicate with sensitivity and effectiveness.


About Us

Australia’s unique natural and cultural heritage includes distinctive land and seascapes, diverse flora and fauna, and some of the world’s oldest cultures. The Director of National Parks oversees six national parks, the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 60 Marine Parks, and the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve, under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Parks Australia, a division of the Department, promotes these treasures and encourages community involvement in their preservation.


Our Corporate Services

The CFO and Corporate Services branch provides essential services including Assurance and Governance, Communication, Marketing and Tourism, Procurement, and Property, Security, and IT.


Communication, Marketing and Tourism

This section collaborates across Parks Australia and with Traditional Owners and stakeholders. Responsibilities include Media and Communications, Marketing, E-Commerce, Tourism Policy, and Destination Planning.


Key Responsibilities

* Contribute to the development and implementation of tourism and visitor experience policies, projects, and strategies.
* Support strategic tourism planning and policy development.
* Assist with tourism activity policies, processes, and authorizations.
* Analyze visitor survey data and prepare insights reports.
* Draft briefs, correspondence, reports, minutes, and agendas.
* Collaborate with park-based visitor services staff and external stakeholders.
