Orthoptic Assistant
We are seeking a skilled Orthoptic Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team in the Eye Clinic at Prince of Wales Hospital.
The successful candidate will work part-time, providing orthoptic and ophthalmic care to outpatients and inpatients. As an Orthoptic Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, from adults to children, and develop your skills in investigation and management of various eye conditions.
You will be working closely with a team of experienced professionals, including optometrists, ophthalmologists, and other healthcare specialists, to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
* Provide orthoptic and ophthalmic care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and caregivers.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
* Diploma or bachelor's degree in Applied Science (Orthoptics) or equivalent qualification.
* Registration with the Orthoptic Board of Australia or eligibility to register.
* Experience in ophthalmic assisting, including perimetry, OCT, Pentacam, refraction, ocular biometry.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
