The opportunity to join our teamWe’re looking for a Senior Risk and Governance Specialist to join our 1st Line Technology Risk team and play a key role in shaping how technology and cloud risk is managed across Insignia Financial. In this role you’ll partner closely with a key business unit as its applications transition into and operate within cloud environments, helping to identify, assess and manage technology risks while helping teams make confident, well-informed decisions.
You’ll work closely with teams who are actively building and operating in the cloud, gaining exposure to multiple cloud technologies and cross-functional teams.
The cloud environment is still maturing, which means your work will have real impact. You’ll help shape how technology risk is managed in a cloud-first organisation, guiding teams through new challenges and strengthening controls as the environment evolves. On top of that, you’ll be part of a close, collaborative team that values support, open communication, and a bit of fun along the way.
This is a hands-on, first line technology risk role giving you the opportunity to influence how risk is managed as the organisation continues its cloud-first journey.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first-line Technology Risk partner to a dedicated technology business unit
* Support risk identification, assessment and remediation across cloud-hosted applications
* Provide pragmatic guidance on technology and cloud risk matters
* Work closely with cloud platform teams
* Manage and track technology incidents, issues and remediation actions
* Contribute to technology risk uplift initiatives and governance improvements
What You Will BringYou’re someone who understands technology risk but is equally comfortable engaging with technical teams. You enjoy working closely with stakeholders, asking the right questions, and helping teams think through risk in a practical way rather than simply applying frameworks.
* Strong experience in first-line Technology Risk
* Exposure to cloud environments, ideally AWS (Azure or GCP also valuable)
* Ability to engage confidently with technical teams and stakeholders
* Understanding of technology risk frameworks and governance practices
* Knowledge of the Australian regulatory landscape (APRA CPS 234, CPS 230 etc.)
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
