About The Role
The Head of Department - Industrial Design & Technology will provide strategic and instructional leadership across the Technologies faculty, with a strong focus on Industrial Technology, Design and emerging STEM-aligned pathways. The faculty has developed strong partnerships with key industry stakeholders, and with the ever-increasing need to prepare students to be work-ready for the future workplace, the successful applicant will have the capacity to build on these relationships and amplify them to further improve student outcomes. The role supports students from Year 7 through to senior secondary, ensuring coherent curriculum design, strong transitions and authentic connections to post-school pathways.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
* Leading the strategic development and implementation of a high-quality ITD curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum and senior syllabuses.
* Driving excellence in teaching and learning through instructional leadership, coaching and professional learning.
* Ensuring safe, inclusive and well-managed workshop and practical learning environments.
* Strengthening pathways into vocational education, apprenticeships, traineeships and tertiary study through industry-aligned programs and credentials.
* Building strong partnerships with industry, tertiary providers and community organisations to enhance authentic learning opportunities.
* Championing innovation, creativity and problem-solving, preparing students for a rapidly changing world of work.
