Job Description: We are seeking a skilled individual to fill the role of Master Control Operator. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Monitoring and adjusting incoming video, audio, and data streams according to organisational processes
* Creative and innovative operational troubleshooting and solution finding skills
* Coordination with field services personnel to support remote operations via satellite, fibre, FTP, IP, and other media networks
* Providing operational support to other technical areas within the wider business
* Customer and broadcast content asset management
* Undertaking routine monitoring of transmission systems and ancillary equipment
* Incident, problem, and change management using ServiceNow and approved Telstra service management tools
* Conforming to day-to-day scheduling workflow using the appropriate tools, e.g., ScheduALL, emails, and Telstra systems
* Appropriate escalation and reporting of incidents and issues to the relevant stakeholders, both internal and external
* Maintaining a cohesive and harmonious work environment with internal and external stakeholders
* Any other ad hoc duties as required
Requirements:
* 3-5 years of relevant technical experience
* The ability to set up and operate all types of television and communications equipment
* Knowledge and experience co-ordinating and troubleshooting for live events
* In-depth knowledge of television equipment, satellite, optical fibre communication terminology, and broadcast standards
* In-depth operational understanding of IP networks (TCP/IP, FTP, store and forward)
* The ability to work independently and work flexible schedules, including 12-hour shifts across nights, holidays, and weekends
* Knowledge and experience using booking systems (ScheduAll), highly desirable
* Operation of satellite dish and receiver equipment, highly desirable
* The ability to multi-task and work under deadlines
* Excellent customer focus to interface with customers
* The ability to deal with competing demands and remain calm under pressure
* Commitment to solve problems quickly, efficiently, and effectively
* Recognise early signs of service difficulty and communicate them to Operational, Editorial, and Management teams
