Palliative care queensland – sunshine coast hub coordinator

We are seeking a motivated, organised and detail-oriented individual to join our team as the Sunshine Coast Hub Coordinator for Palliative Care Queensland (PCQ).
In this role, you will be responsible for working with the Brisbane-based team to play a hands-on role in delivering our signature program, Ambulance With Queensland (AWQ), strengthening local partnerships and supporting the growth and impact of palliative care services and education in the region.
Responsibilities
Perform duties under the direction of the PCQ Program and Policy Manager and AWQ Lead, and work collaboratively with the broader PCQ team to:
Ambulance Wish Queensland
Coordinate wishes – including communication with hospices, aged care facilities, hospitals and health services and other AWQ service partners/stakeholders.
Develop new and manage existing relationships with AWQ affiliates (e.g., Australia Zoo, Sea Life, community organisations, catering companies, wish photographers).
Work with AWQ Program Lead to onboard, manage and recruit new volunteers.
Cultivate relationships with new clinical service partners across the Sunshine Coast region and manage and maintain existing clinical partner relationships.
Work with the Fundraising and Relationships Officer to coordinate local fundraising, philanthropy and donation activities.
Education & Training
Work with the Training and Administration Officer and the Program and Policy Manager to identify opportunities for training delivery in the Sunshine Coast region and surrounding communities.
Promote and advertise PCQ education and training within the Sunshine Coast community at community events and through local business.
Onboard and recruit new volunteers for training and education delivery.
Assist in training delivery (when required).
Stakeholder and Community Engagement
Identify opportunities and represent Palliative Care Queensland and Ambulance Wish Queensland to the Sunshine Coast community, through forums, conferences and community events.
Work with the local community to identify local needs for palliative, end-of-life, grief and bereavement services and information.
Qualifications, skills & experience
Organised: Ability to work across multiple projects and requirements.
Collaborative: Proven ability to build alliances across stakeholder groups.
Communication Skills: An excellent communicator and presenter, able to be the public face for both PCQ and AWQ.
Project Management: Experience working on projects and program management.
Capability to plan, execute and oversee the key responsibilities outlined above.
Local area interest: Passion to grow and develop meaningful internal and external relationships with local stakeholders and understanding opportunities within the local Sunshine Coast market.
Problem-solving skills: Proven ability to analyse problems, identify solutions and implement effective strategies with sound judgement and critical thinking.
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in healthcare or public health.

The past two years have been a period of significant growth for Palliative Care Queensland.
During this time, we expanded our Ambulance Wish Queensland program from two ambulances servicing Southeast Queensland and Townsville to four ambulances, establishing two new hubs in the Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba.
Our LEARN program, which delivers community education and information, also continued to grow in reach and demand.
Following the launch of our new website as part of a national rebrand in late ****, we also delivered an innovative consumer communications project, The Cassette.
Across this period, Palliative Care Queensland strengthened and expanded its programs statewide, alongside its role as the peak body advocating for quality palliative care in Queensland.
