Reporting to the Executive Manager based in Sydney, the Strategy Analyst supports the shaping and evolution of the strategic direction of investment teams, investment capabilities, and the broader global asset management business.
Sitting within the Strategy and Finance team, this role offers a rare opportunity to be part of a fast‐paced, global environment. The role contributes to corporate strategy through involvement in dynamic strategic initiatives and projects, preparation of materials for the FSG Board, and close collaboration with stakeholders across the business to evaluate and deliver positive, sustainable outcomes.
* Partner with senior stakeholders to assess and support strategic initiatives aligned to growth priorities.
* Research key industry developments, including M&A activity, and support M&A‐related work.
* Analyse and summarise data from internal and external sources, including market and industry research.
* Build and maintain financial models to support strategic decision‐making, including risk and value assessments.
* Analyse competitor activity, market positioning and growth strategies.
* Identify key client, investor and intermediary trends across local and global asset management markets.
* Prepare high‐quality reports and presentations for senior executives and the Board.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance strategy processes and ways of working.
Your experience and skills
* Previous experience in strategy, corporate finance/investment banking, management consulting or a related role within financial services or asset management.
* Experience supporting enterprise‐level strategy development, including exposure to executive and Board‐level materials.
* Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting complex data, industry research and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions.
* Hands‐on experience building and analysing financial models to support investment or management decision‐making.
* Exposure to strategic initiatives such as M&A, market entry or capability build activities (desirable), with experience using tools such as Bloomberg and FactSet advantageous.
* Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to partner with senior leaders and present high‐quality written and PowerPoint materials.
* Highly organised, with strong time‐management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
