We are currently seeking an experienced Alternate Open Pit Manager to join our Open Pit Mining team.
Reporting to the Open Pit Manager, you will provide coordination and technical expertise for the mining activities of our Open Pit mining operations.
This role would be suitable to Senior Mining Engineers/Mining Superintendents looking to join a growing organisation.
This is a permanent opportunity, working 8 days on, 6 days off roster. The role may be Fly-in Fly-out from Perth WA, Drive-in Drive-out from Kalgoorlie or residential in Leonora.
The opportunity:
* Manage the delivery of short and medium term plans.
* Assist with management of our inhouse open pit mining services team to achieve production targets, evaluate their performance, track trends to ensure actions are taken to correct variances and deliver results in a cost effective manner.
* Direct the open pit operations' mining team and related contractors to execute works in line with contractual obligations to reach our agreed business plans.
* Manage the business improvement governance for the operations to achieve site targets as set out in the strategy and business plan.
* Ensure control and delivery of capital expenditure and project scope in line with the Capital Approval Process.
* Assist the Open Pit Manager in Opex/Capex budget development.
* Enable and support a safety focused culture.
* Deliver on strategy, budget costs, mine development, key infrastructure and production.

What we will expect from you:
* Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
* Unrestricted Quarry Manager's Certificate.
* A minimum of five year's post-graduate experience.
* Sound knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining.
* Technical expertise in relation to Open Pit mine design, drill and blast, optimization and planning.
* A collaborative approach to working with differing departments to achieve the common goals.
* Proficiency with computer scheduling software (Deswick) is desirable.
* Operational site-based mining experience (preferably gold) and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment.
