Home Hill State School is seeking applications from a dynamic, instructional leader with strong organisational skills and a deep understanding of the Prep to Year 6 curriculum. This role is offered at 0.20 FTE per fortnight, for the duration of Semester 2, 2025 unless otherwise determined. Day is flexible.
In the role of Head of Department (Curriculum), you will drive curriculum leadership and lead whole-school planning, with a strong focus on enhancing teaching quality and improving student outcomes.
About Home Hill State School
Home Hill State School is a Band 7 school with ten classes from Prep to Year 6 in the North Queensland Region. It is located approximately one-hundred kilometres north of Bowen and south of Townsville. The Bruce Highway passes through the township of Home Hill.
Home Hill is a rural farming community of the Burdekin Shire and is predominately a sugar cane growing district with a sugar mill. The district is made up of neighbouring townships of Ayr, Home Hill and other smaller centres. Home Hill is situated on the southern side of the Burdekin River and a short ten minute drive north across the Burdekin Bridge to its 'twin town' of Ayr.

About The Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Set high standards for student and staff performance.
* Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
* Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
