The Role
Our client, a leading organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their high‐performing finance team on a 7‐month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant to step into a broad role with exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, regulatory compliance and process improvement initiatives.
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while supporting key business stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage month‐end accounting processes, including journals, accruals and reconciliations
* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
* Support financial reporting and analysis activities
* Assist with cashflow monitoring and forecasting
* Prepare regulatory returns, BAS, statutory reporting and audit requirements
* Analyse large volumes of financial data and investigate variances
* Support commission calculations and partner reporting
* Assist with process improvement and finance transformation initiatives
* Mentor junior team members and provide technical support where required
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors
Skills & Experience
* Previous insurance industry experience is essential
* CA or CPA qualified
* Proven experience in a Senior Financial Accountant position
* Strong month‐end, balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting experience
* Advanced Excel skills
* Excellent analytical and problem‐solving capability
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Previous financial services or insurance experience highly regarded
* Ability to work autonomously in a fast‐paced environment
