About The Position
One of our operating companies, ONGC Systems, is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team in Arundel, Queensland.
As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing key financial operations and processes within the organisation. This role manages budgets, handles debtor and creditor accounts, supervises payroll, and escalates bank reconciliation issues as required. Additionally, the Financial Controller ensures effective cashflow management, BAS and tax lodgement, and oversees insurance matters. The position also involves conducting one-on-one meetings and professional development planning with direct reports, fostering growth and accountability within the finance team. Importantly, the Financial Controller is also required to provide strategic input into the overall business direction, maintaining a keen focus on optimising finance processes to enhance operational efficiency whilst ensuring cost optimisation throughout the business.

Skills required
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* A minimum of 5 years of experience
* CPA or CA accreditation highly regarded
* Extensive experience in financial management and reporting
* Strong understanding of Australian tax, BAS and payroll regulations
* Proficiency in financial software and (preferably Business Central)
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
* Proven leadership and team management capabilities
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail
* Strategic mindset with a focus on process improvement and cost optimisation
* Managing external audit processes and procedures
* Work from home up to 3 days per week
