We have an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join our team based in Dubbo. With a strong reputation and a supportive team culture, this is your chance to be part of a company that values their employees, expertise, initiative, and customer satisfaction.
The Technician is responsible for performing a range of diagnostic, repair, and servicing tasks on engines and mechanical systems in accordance with product warranty guidelines, company policies, and instructions provided by the Line Manager. This role requires a proactive and collaborative approach, working constructively with all personnel to support a high-performing team environment.
We also welcome applications from 4th‑year apprentices who are keen to complete their training with WTG. For suitable candidates, remuneration will be discussed based on experience and stage of apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert advice on vehicle mechanical condition and diagnose issues accurately.
* Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and other components.
* Complete warranty-related tasks, including dismantling/reassembly and parts ordering.
* Record all work and component serial numbers in company systems for compliance.
* Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and ensure safe use of tools and equipment.
* Conduct test drives, final assessments, and support a positive team environment.
Other Skills and/or Experience:
* Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to apprentice technicians while ensuring safe work practices.
* Deliver high-level guest service and maintain strong customer focus.
* Hold relevant trade qualifications and certification to operate as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
* Demonstrate strong technical aptitude and developed knowledge of the automotive industry.
* Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Post-trade experience in a similar role; additional automotive/mechanical qualifications highly regarded.
* Volvo or Mack experience preferred, with proven ability to train apprentices.
