**Duties include**
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment in the Lab.
- Cleaning of glassware and equipment to ensure integrity of analysis is maintained at all times.
- Compliance to quality standard, using and following documented procedures and testing protocol as specified for each product or sample type.
- Make adjustments and recommendations during the manufacture of products to ensure conformance to final specifications.
- Adjustment of batch sheets, where required.
- Sampling and analysis of Daily Routine Samples. This includes scrubbers, pH meters, cooling tower, effluent streams, etc required for licence compliance.
- Liaise with Production Supervisors if corrective actions are required.
- Assist with the analysis of effluent and storm water to ensure environmental licence compliance.
- Ensure routine maintenance and QA checks on instrumentation are performed.
- Responsible for carrying out stock count and inform Lab Superintendent of impending depletion of consumables or equipment failures.
- General clerical and data entry duties including entry of quality data into E1 or electronic spreadsheet format.
- Assist with the documentation, review, validation, improvement, and or development of analytical methods of the laboratory.
- Carry other duties that might be assigned by the Quality Lead that relate to sampling of raw materials, testing of finished products.
**Requirements criteria**:
- Degree in Chemistry or similar qualification or higher.
- Experience gained in Quality Control and Quality Assurance of products in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in use of MS Office and preferably in Business Resource Planning System (Enterprise One)
- This will be a rotating roster between days/evenings as the season becomes busy.
