Primary Purpose Of Organizational Unit
The Department of Biology at UNC -Chapel Hill is dedicated to the discovery and dissemination of new and existing knowledge in the broad discipline of Biology by maintaining a high-quality faculty who integrate cutting-edge research and student-focused teaching.
Position Summary
The Hige lab studies Neurophysiology and Behavior in Drosophila. The post doc will work on a fellowship project that aims to characterize the physiological and behavioral roles of a novel group of neurons that contribute to memory-based action selection. Research will contribute to the publication of a research paper.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences or related field required.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Applicants need to have at least one first-author paper published in a refereed journal.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Experience in one of the following areas is desirable: neurophysiological studies using the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster; physiological techniques including in vivo whole-cell patch-clamp recording, two-photon calcium imaging, or behavioral assays.
