Job Description Summary
We're looking for a handy and proactive team mate to join our Facilities and Maintenance Team in our Sydney student accommodation buildings on a casual basis. This role offers a wide variety of tasks that will engage your practical problem solving ability and keep your skills sharp and developing on the job.
What you'll be doing
* Handling maintenance requests and repairs across apartments and shared spaces.
* Getting rooms ready for new residents, from small fixes to final checks.
* Taking care of lighting, safety systems, and general building maintenance.
* Record maintenance tasks and safety checks in our system to help keep things safe, organised, and on track.
* Liaising with contractors and suppliers on site.
* Helping residents out with a friendly smile when things go wrong.
* Taking part in an on‐hours rotation for after‐hours support, shared with the team.
What you bring
* Some experience in maintenance, facilities or trades (plumbing, carpentry, general handyman, electrical, HVAC, painting, etc.).
* A trade qualification or related experience is a bonus, not a must.
* Handy with tools, tech, and teamwork.
* A good understanding of safety basics (manual handling, chemicals, etc.).
* Able to lift up to 12 kg, climb ladders, and stay active throughout the day.
* Great communicator and friendly with both residents and teammates.
* Strong willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
* Able to pass a National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check.
