One of our defence clients is looking to hire a Signatures Engineer & Manager (Acoustics – Noise / Vibration) for a permanent role based in Adelaide.Role# 1 : Signatures Engineer (Acoustics – Noise / Vibration)About the Role :The Signature Engineer will apply acoustic engineering principles to perform noise and vibration data collection, testing, analysis, and reporting.
They will develop or assist in developing documentation such as drawings, specifications, test and trial procedures (including safety assessments), concessions, engineering reports, and work instructions.
They will investigate signature defects and problems and support the development of remedial and corrective designs and actions to overcome and prevent the recurrence of these defects.Skills & Experiences :A relevant Engineering Degree or relevant Science Degree, and appropriate experience.Experience in noise and vibration control of machinery systems in the defence, marine, or industrial environment is desirable.Experience in acoustic design within buildings, architectural, and environmental contexts is desirable.Experience in underwater acoustics modelling and behaviour is desirable.Experience with signature and/or noise and vibration measurement equipment and analysis tools (such as Bruel and Kjaer Data Acquisition Hardware and PULSE package) is desirable.Experience with various engineering modelling tools (e.g., FEA, BEM, SEA) and software packages (e.g., Matlab, LabView, ANSYS) is desirable.Ability to recognize and set appropriate priorities and work standards.About the Role :The Signatures Manager will manage the signatures team, including supporting the growth of the team through recruiting, setting objectives, evaluating performance, developing growth plans, promoting, and performance managing staff.
They will proactively identify, resolve, and escalate signatures issues and risks as required.
They will plan, prioritize, resource, and report on Signatures engineering activities, managing associated programmatic risk to ensure successful delivery.
They will prepare and deliver briefings to internal and external stakeholders in design reviews, program reviews, and leadership forums.Skills & Experiences :Bachelor (mandatory) or Post-graduate (preferred) level Engineering or Science qualifications in a relevant technical discipline related to Signatures.Professional Body recognition to Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent).Demonstrated experience in Acoustic and Non-Acoustic Signature Management during design and sustainment phases.Proven experience in providing technical guidance to multi-disciplinary teams to resolve complex technical issues.Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, directing the team's work scope accordingly to respond to business priorities.Demonstrated experience in leading and growing specialist engineering teams.Proven proficiency in soliciting advice from the Science and Technology community and synthesizing it into engineering outcomes.Evidence of outstanding stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
Familiarity with internal Navy and Naval Submarine Sustainment Group (NSSG) processes is desirable.Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to communicate complex issues clearly to diverse stakeholders across organizational, cultural, and language barriers.Experience engaging subcontractors, including developing work scopes and using commercial mechanisms to achieve desired outcomes.Demonstrated application of project management techniques in an engineering project or similar role.Formal qualifications in System Engineering or equivalent training (desirable).If interested, APPLY NOW or call Aparna on 08 8228 1560.
