**Who we are**
The Audit Operations Section is responsible for the delivery of the audit work program in line with the agreed Risk Based Approach, which includes audit preparation, desk audits, remote and on-site audits and audit follow-up. The department is currently undergoing a large reform process as part of AG2030 and we are looking for people who can lead our current processes as well as assisting on delivering on new innovative programs of assurance. Currently we conduct more than 8000 audits each year for multiple commodities. We conduct audits of:

- biosecurity approved arrangements
- plant export property accreditations
- plant export registered establishment audits & 1900 Plant Authorised Officer verifications
- fish, eggs and dairy export registered establishments
- meat processing export registered establishments
- Plant Authorised Officer verifications.

**The Job**
The Workload Manager leads the workload and client teams, developing strategies to support the efficient and effective allocation and scheduling of audits across the national workforce. Duties include:

- planning, leading and managing the delivery of audit allocations on a national level
- providing accurate and reliable strategic advice on workload and scheduling issues
- ensuring workload allocations are provided in accordance with the national operational policy, procedures and standards, ensuring adequate and competent resources are allocated to deliver services
- maintaining a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks and an awareness of changes in the broader environment that may impact on work objectives, and contribute to business improvements
- managing the investigation and resolution of workload management issues, providing timely and accurate feedback on the outcomes
- undertaking audits aligned with skillset (as relevant).

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- Experience in managing high performing teams in a changing environment.
- Knowledge related to imports and/or exports or agricultural industries.
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development of team objectives for operational tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.
- Knowledge and understanding of compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and departmental guidelines and regulations.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining productive working relationships.
