Are you a stress engineer tired of being a small cog in a big machine?
We are recruiting for a fast-moving aerospace innovator in Adelaide. They are scaling up for production and need a practical Aerospace Structures Engineer ready to step into a Team Lead role.
You won't just be running FEA models in the dark. You will guide a small team of junior engineers, perform hand calculations, and work directly with the manufacturing floor to get parts built.
The Role:
This is a hands-on technical role with some leadership responsibility. You will act as the Technical Lead for the structures team, reporting to the Senior Engineering Management.
Your job is to bridge the gap between design and reality. You will ensure your team's designs are sound, manufacturable, and verified quickly using first principles.
Who We Need:
You are likely a "High-Mid" level engineer with 5+ years of experience, ready to take on more responsibility.
* The "Hand Calc" Mindset: You value speed. You can verify a design using "Classic Stress Analysis" to get a 90% answer in minutes, rather than relying solely on slow FEA models.
* Aerospace Exposure: You have worked with aerospace structures and understand the basics of DASA/FAR standards. You know why aircraft are built differently than tractors.
* Ready to Lead: You might not be a Manager yet, but you are ready to mentor 1-2 junior engineers and review their work.
* Practicality: You are happy to walk into the workshop and solve a fabrication issue on the spot.
The Culture:
* Location: 100% On-site in Adelaide (9-day working fortnight).
* Vibe: It's fast, a bit chaotic, and incredibly exciting. Decisions happen daily.
Why Apply?
* See your work physically built and flown, not just archived on a server.
* Enjoy regular 3-day weekends with a 9-day working fortnight.
* Mentorship: You will have access to senior technical experts for high-level guidance, but you get to drive the daily workflow.
