Description Overview The Manager, Product & Operational Controls is responsible for implementing and managing controls across various rules and processes within the organisation. This role ensures that all operational activities comply with established standards and regulations, enhancing efficiency and minimising risks. The role will lead a team of Analysts/Specialists to maintain and develop controls as required. Hybrid working conditions Melbourne or Sydney location 12 month fixed term contract Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Design, implement, and monitor control systems to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations Prepare and present reports on control effectiveness and compliance status to senior management. Work in partnership with the broader leadership team to drive strategic direction and provide effective leadership Work closely with other departments to ensure integrated and effective control systems Provision of learnings and insights to support improved ways of working Help drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that best practice is incorporated into the business Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure alignment with and delivery of customer centric solutions against the overall strategy Work within a dynamic, varied, complex and time critical environment to the highest quality standards without compromising risk and cost to service Lead and manage the Product & Operational Control stream in order to ensure effectiveness & integration of key operational controls Ensure compliance with agreed processes / procedures, controls and address quality and assurance outcomes as required Setting goals, forecasting demand, and preparing resources to meet objectives. This includes monitoring daily production, managing inventory, and ensuring team performance. Ensuring that products or services meet established standards and regulations. This includes regular inspections, testing, and quality assurance activities .Ensure all teams work within the agreed operating model and ensuring all decisions are made within agreed authority limits Implement and embed any strategic operational initiatives (as directed by the business) to improve quality, performance and efficiency of our services Maintain a regular communication channel with internal and external stakeholders Experience & Personal Attributes Proven leadership experience (3 years) in a management position in the Financial Services or Superannuation industry Minimum of 3 years of experience in operational controls, risk management, or a related field Ability to build high performing teams to deliver on key initiatives - plan, prioritise and adapt work to align with organisational goals. Build relationships between teams, departments, units internally and externally to support the achievement of the team and business goals Promote a culture of risk awareness and proactive identification of potential issues Ability to make decisions in a timely manner based on the information, experience and skills available Be a role model leader by leading by example motivating staff development and continuing improvement of their skills and competencies. Proven client management experience Ability to engage with senior stakeholders (both internally and externally). Excellent negotiation and communication skills both verbal and written, including the ability to adapt communications to meet the needs of different audiences. Ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver customer centric solutions. Proven customer focus and a strategic mindset.
