Role Overview
Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Adults Access Team. This ongoing locum opportunity offers a competitive rate of £330.77 per day and flexible working hours, with both part-time and full-time options available.
As part of the Adult Social Care front door service, you will play a key role in ensuring that adults and their families receive the right support at the earliest opportunity. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will assess new referrals, provide professional advice and guidance, and ensure safeguarding concerns are responded to appropriately.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of professional contact for new referrals into Adult Social Care.
* Screen and triage referrals received from professionals, families, and self-referrals.
* Undertake initial assessments and risk evaluations to determine eligibility for services.
* Apply relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding procedures.
* Provide advice, guidance, and signposting to appropriate statutory and community services.
* Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with local authority procedures.
* Work collaboratively with health professionals, community organisations, and internal teams.
* Maintain accurate and timely case recordings using electronic case management systems.
* Participate in duty rotas and respond to urgent referrals where required.
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification (BA / MA Social Work or equivalent).
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Experience working within Adult Social Care, ideally within a duty, access, or front door service.
* Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, safeguarding legislation, and adult social care frameworks.
* Ability to manage referrals in a fast-paced environment and prioritise effectively.
* Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
