Key Responsibilities:
* We require a senior medical laboratory scientist with high level of experience in the consistent and accurate performance of complex Chemical Pathology and Point of Care Testing investigations
* The ideal candidate will possess advanced multi-modal communication skills and be able to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with colleagues and clients
* They will have advanced clinical knowledge in Chemical Pathology and Point of Care Testing services to support laboratory staff and clients
* Expertise in the operation and supervision of Chemical Pathology and Point of Care Testing services is essential, aligned with the strategic direction of our organization
* The selected candidate will supervise and train a team of Health Practitioners in Chemical Pathology and Point of Care Testing, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and government regulations
* They will operate and troubleshoot analysers such as Atellica SCI, RP500, Fiske 210 Osmometer, iSTAT, and Lambda 365 spectrophotometer
* Ability to use or quickly acquire knowledge of various software systems applicable to supervisory duties, including LIS, medical records system, Quality information system, QC management systems, procurement, payroll/HR, safety and Office365
* A commitment to continuing education of yourself and supervised colleagues is expected
* Availability to provide urgent remote or on-site support out of hours when required for emergent issues
* Detailed understanding of laboratory quality systems and requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO15189 certification for Chemical Pathology and Point of Care services Professional development is necessary
