About The Role
As a Midwifery Group Practice Outreach Clinical Midwife (CM), you will provide advanced, evidence‐based midwifery care in partnership with predominantly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families. Based in Mount Isa, this role operates on an outreach model, flying into Doomadgee and Mornington Island to deliver antenatal and postnatal care within non‐birthing communities, while also supporting intrapartum and postnatal care when women relocate to Mount Isa for birth.
* Provide continuity‐of‐care midwifery services across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods within an MGP model, supporting optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes
* Deliver culturally safe, woman‐centred care in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, families and communities
* Work in an outreach capacity, alternating weeks between Mount Isa and Doomadgee and/or Mornington Island, with coordinated FIFO arrangements
Working with us
* For 1 year you receive an isolation bonus of AUD$3,605. If you stay for 2 years you receive AUD$10,815...and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you receive AUD$7,210 (pro‐rata for part‐time employees).
* We also provide two return airfares per annum (full‐time employees, includes spouse/dependents) or one return airfare per annum (part‐time employees) to the nearest east‐coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
* Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
* Tax savings through salary‐sacrificing options are also available.
Plus 2 weeks per annum, travel as required and enrolment and conference costs for approved courses and conferences.
We also offer staff accommodation (if eligible) or a private rental subsidy of AUD$82.50 per week for up to 17 months.

Requirements
* The position involves travel to Mornington Island and/or Doomadgee communities, and may include travel to other facilities or units within the North West Hospital and Health Service on occasion.
* Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
* C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
* Pre‐employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
* This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
* A period of probation may apply.
