We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Workshop Manager to lead our busy workshop operations. This is a hands‐on leadership role suited to a strong people manager with solid technical capability and a proven background in mobile plant environments.
About the Role
Reporting across both workshop and office‐based support functions, this permanent full‐time position (Monday–Friday) oversees daily workshop operations, team performance, safety, and financial outcomes. The workshop operates 6:00am–4:00pm.
You will be responsible for leading and coordinating a skilled trades team while ensuring jobs are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and manage workshop personnel, driving performance and accountability
Plan and allocate labour resources to optimise productivity and billable hours
Manage Work in Progress (WIP) through ERP systems (experience with Pronto highly regarded)
Close out jobs, capture billables, and maintain accurate system data
Oversee workshop scheduling in collaboration with planning and technical support
15 to 20 direct reports (various trades)
Ensure strong compliance and application of WHS practices, including JHAs, risk assessments, inspections and proactive safety leadership
Maintain high standards of quality, efficiency and team engagement
About You
Proven experience in a Workshop Manager or similar leadership role
Strong people management capability with the ability to lead from the front
Technical background in mobile plant, ideally within mineral processing, crushing & screen equipment
Confident and capable user of business systems, with strong administrative skills
Demonstrated experience managing WIP, job costing, and labour utilisation
Sound understanding of WHS legislation and practical application in a workshop environment

$130,000 – $150,000 base salary + super
