This short‐term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to comprehensive psychiatric services within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.About the Role Reporting to the Head of Unit, this role is responsible for providing clinical services of the highest possible standard to Mental Health Service Division patients, both in terms of individual performance and by providing clinical leadership and contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.ResponsibilitiesRespond to the expectations and needs of both clinical and non‐clinical colleagues.Ensure patients and families receive adequate information to base treatment decisions and follow up.Provide appropriate specialist level care to patients.Provide clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers and Medical Students.Participate in programs designed to provide personal growth and development.Participate in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.Conduct research.Contribute to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.About YouBachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration (Psychiatry); or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Psychiatry.Demonstrated professional integrity, leadership and motivational skills.Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of professional judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting.Those close to receiving fellowship are encouraged to apply.Additional Information Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and Immunisation compliance as indicated on the Role description.SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working including part‐time.
