Scope of Task:
* Advice on Defence's obligations under United States (US) and other foreign export controls;
* Sound decision-making and judgement on strategic and international policy advice as it relates to international export controls;
* In-depth knowledge of arms regulations, strategic and international policy as it relates to international export controls;
* Complex problem-solving skills for the management of sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence and the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA);
* Assistance with the development of applications seeking authorisation from the US government to re-export and re-transfer US-controlled defense articles to third parties in support of Defence acquisition, sustainment and disposal activities;
* Support to Defence areas to understand and comply with their obligations under Foreign End User Certificates and Assurances;
* Administrative management of Approved Community membership under the Australia-US Defence Trade Cooperation Treaty (the Treaty); and
* Development of programs and procedures to ensure the CoA complies with international arrangements and agreements, and meets its international obligations.
