Our client, a long-established, modern and family-focused medical practice with more than 19 years of successful operation, is seeking a dedicated Practice Nurse to join the team on a 12‐month maternity leave contract. The practice is highly regarded for its integrative approach to healthcare, providing comprehensive services across General and Family Practice, Nutrition, Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture and Cosmetic Medicine.
This role offers the opportunity to transition into a permanent part‐time position at the completion of the maternity leave contract. The position is part‐time, with rostered shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (8:30 am – 5:30 pm), plus alternate Saturdays and Sundays (8:30 am – 3:30 pm). A structured training and handover period will commence around 14 May 2026 for approximately four weeks, with the maternity leave contract formally beginning on 21 July 2026.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and manage individualized patient care plans and conduct comprehensive health assessments
* Provide proactive patient support, including screening, health education, and health promotion initiatives
* Coordinate patient reminders and recall systems to ensure continuity of care
* Oversee treatment room operations, including inventory management and stock control
* Perform front desk and reception duties, ensuring timely responses to patient inquiries, appointment bookings, invoicing, referrals, test results, and patient reports
* Prepare patients for in‐room procedures and provide clear education on pre‐ and post‐operative care
* Maintain strict instrument sterilization procedures and adhere to infection control protocols
* Ensure efficient, accurate, and confidential management of patient records, clinical files, and correspondence
Skills And Experience Required For This Position Will Include
* Previous experience in a similar Practice Nurse role with current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with AHPRA
* Minimum of three years' experience in General Practice nursing (preferred)
* Current CPR certification and First Aid Certificate
* Demonstrated experience in pathology collection and venepuncture
* Competency in performing 12‐lead ECGs and administering IV infusions
* Sound understanding of MBS item numbers and associated incentive programs
* Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Genie software highly regarded
* Proven ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and manage sensitive clinical information
* Warm, friendly, and professional manner with a strong patient‐focused approach
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proactive, self‐motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
* Ability to work closely with the front desk team across both clinical and administrative responsibilities
* Professional presentation and a genuine commitment to promoting health, wellbeing, and the services of the practice
This position is ideally suited to an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in General Practice who is motivated to contribute to the continued growth and development of the practice. The successful candidate will enjoy building and enhancing clinical services and be confident in supporting practice expansion initiatives.

Remuneration
An attractive salary package aligned with Award Rates for a Registered Nurse (RN) Level 2 will be offered to the successful candidate.
The Proposed Hourly Rates Are As Follows
* Tuesday to Thursday: $37.79 per hour + superannuation
* Saturday: $56.69 per hour + superannuation
* Sunday: $66.13 per hour + superannuation
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
