Job Description
What You'll Do
The CAR Group Tax team is growing and we are looking for our newest team member: a talented and driven Senior Tax Advisor. If you’re an established Big 4 Senior Analyst or Junior Manager looking to make your first move to industry, or an industry tax professional looking to make your next move, this role could be perfect for you. Reporting to the Group Tax manager, you will be part of an integral team of tax professionals who roll up their sleeves and support the global CAR Group business in the following areas:
6. Ensuring tax compliance across our global group of companies (tax effect accounting, financial reporting, income tax, FBT and BAS reviews) is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Ensuring internal tax reporting is completed monthly
8. Undertaking regular risk reviews to ascertain that business positions taken are consistent with the group tax risk framework
9. Research and draft tax papers to support tax positions taken by the business.
10. Support the business as a trusted tax adviser to ensure tax risks are appropriately identified and managed.
11. Assist with the execution of tax projects, tax transparency initiatives and M&A activities.
12. Maintain tax governance processes, procedures and controls
Qualifications

14. Ability to interpret and apply tax legislation, exercise judgement on technical matters and liaise with external tax advisors
15. Ability to work collaboratively across different parts of the business to provide timely advice and gain input and buy-in into tax initiatives
16. Knowledge of accounting requirements and ability to think outside the box to find practical solutions
17. CA, CPA or CTA qualified (or nearly there)
18. Strong commercial sense and willingness to step outside of the tax area when warranted
19. Experience with OneSource advantageous but not essential
