North Law is seeking a motivated and reliable Legal Secretary / Administration Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in legal support who is looking for a long-term career in a professional and supportive environment.
About the Role
This position will provide essential legal, secretarial, and administrative support to our professional staff. You will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day running of the office and will be involved in a broad variety of work.
The role is part time hours per week) and would suit school hours.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing and drafting legal documents and correspondence
• Dictation
• Conducting searches
• Managing client files (electronic and paper-based)
• Liaising with clients, courts, and external stakeholders
• Appointment management for solicitors
• Assisting with briefing counsel and preparing court documents
• General administrative duties including answering phones, filing, scanning, data entry, and billing
What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will have:
• 2+ years' experience in a legal secretary or admin assistant role
• Experience working in the Wills & Estates/Litigation/Property/Commercial practice areas
• Experience in at least one of the following practice areas is sufficient: Wills & Estates, Litigation, Property, or Commercial
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and LEAP practice management software (or ability to learn quickly)
• Experience with any legal software is acceptable, with willingness to learn LEAP practice management software
• A proactive, professional, and reliable approach
• Commitment to a long-term role (please note: this position is not suitable for law students seeking short-term experience
