The OSMT section focuses on acquiring and analysing data across various regions of Australia to enhance our understanding of the structure and composition of the Earth's crust and lithosphere. Our work includes projects such as AusArray, which generate 3D models of the Australia lithosphere. In addition, the team utilises thermo-chemical modelling, an advanced geophysical tool that integrates passive seismic, gravity, topography and heatflow data to create detailed models of the lithosphere's physical properties, such as temperature, density, and composition. This comprehensive approach provides deep insights into the structure of the crust and mantle, supporting exploration activities and identifying areas with significant resource potential.
