**About the Assignment**
The Santos Upstream PNG Operations Division has responsibility for safe, reliable and sustainable production and efficient operations of our operated and non-operated reserves in PNG, including regulatory approvals, reporting, JV interfaces and relations with the communities and landowner leaders in our operational footprint.
The PNG Operations Division is fully enabled, with clear ownership and accountability of stakeholder management, people and culture, business performance and project delivery, serviced by the Centre.
Within the PNG Operations Division, the PNG Development and Projects department supports the Project Delivery Process (PDP) for pre-FEED stage Major Capital Projects and all project phases for smaller to medium size projects.
This Project Services group centrally supports the PNG project portfolio with this role to support the Brownfield Projects portfolio as well as providing guidance and input at a PNG project portfolio level.
The Planning Lead plays an important role in ensuring coordination and integration of the portfolio of PNG projects into the PNG Business Unit (BU) Integrated Activity Plan and Schedule as well as corporate level summary reporting. The role will have oversight of, and support for, various planning-related initiatives across the portfolio as well as providing direct Planning support to the Brownfield Facilities Senior Project Manager who manages a portfolio of projects including refinery return to service, security hardening and some abandonment works.
Oversight of portfolio-level activities:
- The development, coordination, and maintenance of portfolio performance reports
- Transparent and consistent reporting and tracking of plan performance against targets to enhance decision making, opportunity identification, prioritisation and look-back analysis
- Coordinate with the Lead Functional Planner for Santos to ensure that the PNG BU is implementing the required Planning practices and processes
- Provide appropriate leadership and guidance to project planners
- Assist with Identify planning and scheduling skills gaps and recommend suitable training courses
- Provide review and assessment of plans received from Operator(s) of Major Capital Projects Operated By Others (OBO)
Planning for Brownfield Projects
- Develop and manage overall master project schedule(s), coordinating and incorporating Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Owner's team, and contractor data (as required / appropriate)
- Maintain project schedule versions (e.g. baseline, control budget, concept alternatives) to enable management of change and comparison between reporting periods
- Lead regular interactive, cross-functional planning sessions to ensure that the schedule is fully integrated and appropriately reviewed / challenged by all stakeholders
- Proactively identify, analyse, and advise project management team regarding schedule risks (i.e. clashes, changes in critical path) ensuring these are appropriately reflected
- Evaluate impacts through sensitivity analysis to identify optimum / alternative project strategies to resolve problems / issues
- Implement regular schedule reporting regarding performance versus plan (incl. deviations)
- Own and develop schedule documentation, i.e. schedule development basis, schedule management plan, master project schedule
- Review and steward contractors' planning and scheduling performance in compliance with contract requirements
- Support project management team with schedule communication presentation to business leadership
This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.
Location for this assignment is Brisbane working full-time office hours.
**About You**
- 10+ years' experience in project planning
- Ability to understand project execution and interlinking activities and provide pro-active planning support to the Project Team, not simply updating the P6 software
- Experience in EPC delivered up-stream oil and gas industry
- Experience across all phases of a project within the upstream oil and gas industry i.e., from front-end / pre-FEED project phases through to execution
- Demonstrated experience planning multiple projects and capital works activities within a brownfield operational environment
- Global experience, especially in developing countries and / or remote locations
- In-depth knowledge of planning and scheduling processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical, with the ability to utilise multiple data sources to deliver outcomes
- Process driven with an enthusiasm for identifying improvements and efficiencies
- Expert in Oracle Primavera P6
