The role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic business development and marketing plans to expand the Yu Long's racehorse syndication operations and market presence, focusing on Great Asia market, including China, Hong Kong, etc.
  • Establish and refine racehorse syndicate business models, including pricing strategies, ownership structures, campaigns, and client engagement initiatives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, industry events, partnerships, and targeted client acquisition strategies.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients, owners, trainers, and industry stakeholders to support long-term business growth.
  • Manage and coordinate the company's digital marketing activities, including social media platforms, online promotions, branding campaigns, and audience engagement strategies, in consultation with other marketing professionals in Yu Long.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands within the racing and syndication industry to support commercial decision-making and business expansion.
  • Represent the company at industry events, racing functions, promotional activities, and business meetings to enhance the company's profile and industry connections.
  • Prepare marketing materials, promotional content, client presentations, and business proposals to support sales and client development initiatives.
  • Monitor sales performance, client engagement outcomes, and marketing effectiveness, and provide strategic recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate with management to develop revenue growth strategies, improve customer retention, and enhance the company's competitive positioning within the industry.
  • Undertake domestic and international business travel as required to support business development activities, partnership opportunities, and client relationship management.
  • Report directly to general manager regarding business development activities, marketing performance, and strategic initiatives.

To be successful you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Thoroughbred Racing & Syndication: Proven experience (minimum 1-2 years) within the horse racing industry, specifically in racehorse syndication, bloodstock, or racing operations. Tertiarie qualification preferred.
  • Cross-Cultural Communication & Networking: Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the cultural fluency required to pitch and negotiate in Asian business environments (bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese is essential).
  • Content & Pitch Development: Proficient in creating high-quality marketing collateral, business proposals, and executive-level client presentations.
  • Asian Market Expansion: Demonstrated track record in international business development, with specific expertise navigating and expanding into the Greater Asia market (including China and Hong Kong).
  • Marketing & Brand Management: Experience managing multi-channel digital marketing campaigns, social media strategies, and corporate branding initiatives.
  • Account & Stakeholder Management: Background in building and maintaining high-value relationships with bloodstock owners, trainers, industry stakeholders, and high-net-worth individuals.
